In past years we have spotted species from robins and bluetits to woodpeckers\, tree creepers and even the odd bird of prey. \nWhist there is plenty of shelter we still advise that you wrap up in warm\, waterproof clothing and wear appropriate outdoor footwear. \nThis is a free activity\, no need to book. DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to be partnering with Scarborough Fair for a wonderful family friendly winter workshop lead by brilliant crafter Laura. \nParticipants can make a wooden Christmas bracelet to take away as well as other festive activities. \nTo give as many people a chance to join in as possible we will be running two 1hr workshops starting at 10am and 11am.  \nNo need to book\, just drop in at one of those two start times. \nAll children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

It’s easy to write the dystopian version of the future. But what if we put our imaginations and creative writing skills to developing a more sustainable one? \n  \nIn Thrutopia writing we explore how we get from where we are now to a future where we are learning to live more as part of nature and more in harmony with each other. It is not a utopia — there are still challenges and conflicts and failures — but we are seriously working on healing the planet\, ourselves and the relationship between the two. \n  \nIn this three hour explorative workshop\, we will use various writing exercises to begin fashioning Thrutopian fiction. \n  \n‘Hard times are coming when we will be wanting the voices of writers who can see alternatives to how we live now\, and can see through our fear stricken society and its obsessive technologies to other ways of being and even imagine some real grounds for hope.’ \nUrsula K.
