SUMMARY:South Cliff Gardens Presents - Live Music and Poetry in the Italian Gardens
DESCRIPTION:Live music and poetry returns to the Italian Gardens this summer. \nWe have another fantastic line up of super talented local performers and it’s all completely free so pack a picnic\, bring a brolly (useful in sun or rain) and enjoy an afternoon of splendid entertainment. \n12 pm Music from The Garden Choir and Global Voices \nBased in Scarborough\, North Yorkshire\, Global Voices and The Garden Choir are two popular community singing groups directed by local musician and composer Sarah Dew. Both choirs—individually and combined— perform feel-good musical journeys featuring folk\, pop\, and world music. \n12:45 pm Poetry from brilliant local poets Peter Finch\, Sue Grogan\, Carrie Hilton. \n1:30 pm Music from The Marvels \nThe Marvels is an East Coast singer-songwriter duo based in Scarborough\, featuring local musicians Carmel O’Toole and Marvin Close. They perform original music blending roots\, folk\, and storytelling\, often exploring local themes\, people power\, and social issues. This is their first visit to the gardens and we can’t wait to welcome them. \n2:15 pm Poetry from Peter Finch\, Sue Grogan\, Carrie Hilton. \n3 pm Music from The Tall Boy \nClosing out our program for the day is popular local performer The Tall Boy. It’s been a while since he performed for us and we look forward to giving him a warm welcome back to our stage. \nAll times are approximate and may be subject to change.

DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to welcome Lilly’s Reptile Rescue to the Shuttleworth Gardens for a very special outdoor session of Go Wild! \nCome along and meet Dave Bigsby and some of the amazing animals in his care\, learn more about what it takes to look after exotic pets and the important work Dave and his team do to rescue and rehabilitate reptiles including snakes\, lizards and tortoises. \nThere will also be reptile themed activities and crafts to join in with. \nThis is a free drop in session\, no need to book. All children must be accompanied by an adult. \nOnly service dogs permitted in this garden.

DESCRIPTION:Yoga is back in the Shuttleworth Gardens this summer. Join our expert tutor Elspeth on Wednesday mornings through July and August. \nThese sessions are free and no experience necessary\, no booking just join Elspeth on the day. \nChildren aged 12+ are welcome to take part but must be accompanied by an adult. \nThis class takes place on grass\, yoga mats are not supplied\, please bring your own if you would like to use one. \nThis is an outdoor class and may be subject to cancellation or relocation in the case of extreme weather.
