Poetry Bonanza – Dr Rhyme comes to Scarborough!

August 26, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Free

Festival Poet, Dave Wood, aka Dr Rhyme, will be setting up stall on 26th and 27th August at the beautiful Shuttleworth Gardens and bringing his wordplay to the foray.

He’ll be dividing his time between two lots of fun activities over what’s turning out to be a yummy poetry picnic.

On Friday and Saturday 26th and 27th August 10am – 12, he’s inviting folks to turn up to the Shuttleworth Gardens with some whacky subjects for poems; all you need to do is give him a one or two word idea and he’ll get his creative muse fired up. You should be able to pick up your poem up within the hour during busy periods; if not, you can collect them 3 – 4pm, or we can get them to you.  If you’d like a favourite poem read to you, just let us know in advance.

On the same afternoons, between 1pm and 3pm, look for Dave amongst the trees; he’ll be inspiring passers-by to create a massive poem about the environment, then scribing the lines on long colourful bunting.

All timings are approximate and subject to change. This is an outdoor event so please dress appropriately for the weather. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Service dogs only in this garden.
