All volunteer roles will be offered subject to the individual candidate’s skills and qualifications. If we don’t feel that your skills match the role you have applied for we will seek to find alternative opportunities for you to volunteer with us.

Event Steward

Role: Help our events to run smoothly by becoming an Events Steward. You’ll be the heroes of the day, helping set up, meeting visitor, guiding people around events and helping everything to run smoothly and safely.

Experience: No experience necessary, induction and training will be provided.  Good team and interpersonal skills are essential for this role.

Wildlife Hero

Role: Help us to chart the biodiversity of flora and fauna in South Cliff Gardens by joining one of our ecological monitoring programs.

Experience: No experience necessary just a passion for wildlife from birds to bugs. Induction and training will be provided. If you do have existing specialist knowledge that you could share with others we would love to hear from you too.

Health Walk Leader

Role: Help others to enjoy the gardens whilst improving their fitness as a Health Walk Leader. You will be taking small groups on regular weekly walks around the gardens helping to build their confidence and providing an opportunity to socialise.

Experience: Some experience of leading talks, tours or exercise classes desirable but not essential. Full training will be given. Volunteers must be able to commit to regular engagement with this role and to attending appropriate training (which may take place outside of the Borough) prior to commencement.

Picture That – Digital Photography Volunteers

Role: Help people make better use of their digital devices from mobile phones to digital cameras with Digital Photography Workshops.

Experience: Experience of teaching similar workshops desirable but applications from experienced photographers who are willing to share their knowledge and expertise are also welcome. 

Get Crafty – Craft Volunteers

Role: We are seeking volunteers who can demonstrate a specific skill or who are able to deliver arts and crafts workshops. We will be running classes for both children and adults throughout the year.

Experience: No formal qualifications are required. We are looking for enthusiastic makers who are willing to share their skills and passion with the community. If you are a professional crafter and would like to volunteer your time we would love to hear from you as well.

Social Media Stars

Role: Even if you’ve only got a couple of minutes to spare you can still help to raise the profile of South Cliff Gardens by promoting events on Social Media. Whether you’re a fan of Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, we need you to be a social media star and help get the word out about what’s going on in the gardens from weekend workouts to pop up festivals, you can help us get the word out!

Experience: No experience necessary just lots of enthusiasm for the project and access to social media.
