Discovering South Cliff Gardens – Guided Heritage Walk

August 26, 2021 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Free

Join us on a walk of discovery as we reveal some of the stories, history and heritage that have helped to make South Cliff Gardens so unique.

About this event

Scarborough’s South Cliff Gardens has a wealth of history and heritage which dates back to the town’s transformation into the countries first seaside holiday resort.

Join us as we explore the gardens and celebrate the visionaries who helped shape this truly unique Scarborough gem.

South Cliff Gardens are set into a cliffside and as a result this tour does include walking on uneven surfaces, steep inclines and steps and is not suitable for those with mobility issues. Participants are asked to wear appropriate footwear.

The tour lasts approx. 1 hr . Please meet at the Clock Tower on the Esplanade 5 mins before the tour commences.

If you would like to know more about  joining this tour or to discuss arranging an alternative fully accessible Esplanade tour please contact the Community Engagement Officer: gemma.alexander@scarborough.gov.uk

All children must be accompanied by an adult and dogs must be kept on lead.

Tour is subject to cancelation in the event of extremely poor weather for safety reasons.
