It’s time for the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch and our feathered friends need you!

Could you spend an hour counting the birds in South Cliff Gardens?

You can take part any time between 26th – 28th January simply by signing up on the RSPB website and following their instructions: Big Garden Birdwatch (rspb.org.uk)

Or why not wrap up warm and join us for one of our spotting sessions in the gardens. Last year participants identified a wide variety of species including some more unusual varieties including tree creepers and birds of prey.

Spotting sheets supplied and everyone welcome. No need to book just join us at Beeforth’s Hive a few minutes before your chosen slot and we will take it from there. Please allow a little over an hour for your session to give us time to go over the instructions for how to record your sightings and make our way down to the Italian Gardens where we will begin our Big Garden Birdwatch.

All children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. There is an accessible route into the gardens and cover under the shelters in the event of poor weather. Dogs on lead welcome. Free parking on the Esplanade (check for parking disc requirements). This is an outdoor event so please dress appropriately for the weather.
