South Cliff Gardens Presents – Live Music and Poetry in the Italian Gardens

Live music and poetry returns to the Italian Gardens this summer.
We have another fantastic line up of super talented local performers and it’s all completely free so pack a picnic, bring a brolly (useful in sun or rain) and enjoy an afternoon of splendid entertainment.
12 pm Music from The Garden Choir and Global Voices
Based in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, Global Voices and The Garden Choir are two popular community singing groups directed by local musician and composer Sarah Dew. Both choirs—individually and combined— perform feel-good musical journeys featuring folk, pop, and world music.
12:45 pm Poetry from brilliant local poets Peter Finch, Dechen Shaw, Sue Grogan.
1:30 pm Music from The Marvels
The Marvels is an East Coast singer-songwriter duo based in Scarborough, featuring local musicians Carmel O’Toole and Marvin Close. They perform original music blending roots, folk, and storytelling, often exploring local themes, people power, and social issues. This is their first visit to the gardens and we can’t wait to welcome them.
2:15 pm Poetry from Peter Finch, Dechen Shaw, Sue Grogan.
3 pm Music from The Tall Boy
Closing out our program for the day is popular local performer The Tall Boy. It’s been a while since he performed for us and we look forward to giving him a warm welcome back to our stage.
