Local artist Louise Bass is back after holding a successful Summer event with us.

Inspired by the seaside and a medley of characters Louise’s paintings are simple, fresh and colourful. She uses a combination of paint, print, stencil and collage in her work.

Louise’s painting Big Donkey, Small Bird won the East Coast People’s Choice Award at Scarborough Art Gallery last year.

She describes her home studio as a large table covered in paint and rollers, scissors and glue with a very old stripy cat and two large dogs for company. No donkeys yet !! She is making the Hive a home from home for the duration of the open house weekends (sadly still no donkeys).

Visitors can drop into the Hive any time from 10am to 5pm where Louise will be on hand to answer any questions about her work. Everyone welcome.
